The three pillars of ESG standards

Environmental

The environmental pillar focuses on how your company impacts the environment, including energy use, waste management and CO2 emissions, and shows how sustainably and climate-consciously you operate.

Among other things, this includes:

  • Reduction of CO₂ emissions

  • Management of natural resources (water, energy)

  • Recycling and waste management policies

  • Commitment to fighting climate change

Social

The social pillar is about how your company treats people, from employees and customers to the wider community. It focuses on things like good working conditions, diversity, training and social engagement.

Among other things, this includes:

  • Working conditions and employee well-being

  • Diversity and inclusion

  • Relationships with local communities

  • Human rights and ethical standards

Governance

Governance is about how your business is managed, focusing on transparency, responsible decision-making and ethical leadership. It ensures clear rules and a trustworthy structure within your organization.

Among other things, this includes:

  • Transparency and anti-corruption policies

  • Executive compensation

  • Board structure and accountability

  • Shareholder protection and risk management

From overwhelmed to organised: getting started with sustainability reporting for SMEs (Dutch)

Sustainability reporting is becoming increasingly relevant for SMEs. Banks, customers and larger partners are increasingly asking for clear ESG information. At the same time, taking a voluntary approach to ESG can give you a strategic advantage. During this webinar, Kenny Weytens, Product Manager and ESG expert at Isabel, will briefly outline the Belgian context and what it means for SMEs. He will then introduce Kube, our solution designed to help SMEs structure their ESG information and make sustainability reporting easier and more manageable. Based on the European VSME standard, Kube follows the only-once principle: you create one report and easily share it with all your stakeholders. This saves time and helps keep the administrative burden under control. At the end of the session, there's time for a Q&A, during which Kenny will gladly answer your questions.
